Title: Horrible Dream
Pair: Clex
Six of Seven Clexmas ficlets for the True Love Fest
Prompt: Dream
Lex shot straight up in bed and looked around in shock. “What, where am I?”
Two big, strong arms grabbed him and pulled him back down onto the pillows with a groan.
“Stop! Uh...” Lex looked up at the ceiling and sighed. He rolled his head over to see Clark, his hair mussed, still stubbornly closing his eyes against the world. “I had a horrible dream, Clark.”
“Mmm. Tell me,” Clark murmured.
“You were best friends with Oliver Queen.”
“Who?”
“And you were bouncing between Lana Lang and Chloe’s cousin in a overblown romance novel gone wrong.”
“Bwuh?”
“You choked me, teamed up with my father, and used this machine to go into my head. Clark!”
“Lex, it was just a bad dream.”
“And Green Arrow killed me.”
Clark opened his eyes and then pulled Lex closer to him. “If Green Arrow gets near you, I’m shoving his bow up his ass before he has the chance to breathe wrong.”
Lips twitching, Lex leaned forward and awarded Clark with a kiss.
“No more horrible dreams, Lex. You’re my best friend and the only romantic partner I need.” Clark peppered kisses over Lex’s cheeks. “You’re everything, okay? I would never hurt you... while not on K, sorry I can’t make a better promise than that. Your father was a despicable man, and he died in prison, so I can’t team up with a corpse. And finally... what was the thing about your head?”
Lex closed his eyes and leaned his head forward to touch “You used a machine to walk around in my mind. I’m crazy, by the way. Have I mentioned that?”
“I love your crazy.” Clark kissed his nose and rubbed his hand up and down Lex’s back. “I promise not to walk around in your brain without your permission, kay?”
“Yes. That will be sufficient.”
“We’ll never let things get that bad between us.”
“I sincerely hope not. I couldn’t survive it. Not being blown up, and not being separate from you.”
"Kiss me, and go back to sleep.”
Lex did, and then did.
